a portable. Flexibility puts you in control. The PT 2000 gives you the flexibility to choose the appropriate input device for your application, whether it's a wand, CCD or 5V laser. Its LCD display provides easy readability, and a splash-resistant alphanumeric keypad gives you the option of keying in data. In addition, the PT 2000 offers wide options for memory capacity of the unit to best suit your application requirement. Multiple choices for the type of battery allows the user to ensure the uninterrupted service of the unit depending on the application. Should your batteries fail, a lithium backup battery is built into the unit for up to 10 days of memory storage. The PT 2000 features a built-in AT and PS/2 interface ( what we call Dual Interface ), so you can use it as a keyboard wedge for those applications requiring direct data entry in application programs. TopGun consists of a Percon PT 2000 portable data collection terminal integrated with a TopGun laser module. Weighing 16 ounces (including three AA batteries), TopGun is lightweight and easy to use. It operates like any other handheld laser -- just aim it and pull the trigger. These durable units are rugged enough to withstand multiple drops to concrete. Falcon Series of Terminals from Percon are ideal for
data-intensive portable data-collection applications.
Runing under DOC 6.22 operating system, these terminals
are having an open-architecture with PC Compatible design
and uses a 32 bit Intel 80386 CPU. Falcon terminals have 2MB of RAM (upgradeable to 4MB) and 1MB of non-volatile flash memory. The Falcon is flexible and expandable with its user-accessible PC card ( PCMCIA ) slot which supports Type I and Type II cards. These slots may be used to expand data or application storage, using an ATA flash card (up to 64MB). Alternately, this slot can provide additional connectivity for fax/modems or networks. The same slot can also be used to transform the unit into a wireless communication terminal if used with a certified 2.4 Ghz spread spectrum wireless LAN radio card. The Falcon features a high resolution, backlit supertwist LCD display with graphic capability. The alphanumeric, splash-resistant keypad has large keys and is laid out for quick and easy access. In addition, the two side triggers can be programmed to function as regular keys. The terminal provides an interface to either a standard serial device or to the communication and recharging dock (Falcon Dock) using standard RS-232 COM1 port. While supporting the full DOS UART access up to 115Kbs, Falcon has Percon ACK/NAK and X-modem protocols pre-loaded. The Falcon supports most industry-standard Barcode input devices, including, hand-held 5V lasers, hand-held CCDs or wand scanners.The Falcon portables support and auto-discriminate among any combination of the following bar code symbologies. All of the symbologies can be loaded and enabled simultaneously. The Falcons optional integrated, lightweight laser is cost effective, and user-adaptable to either left or right-handed operation. The triggers located on both sides of the Falcon allow you to aim and scan from 3 to 36 inches. The high-performance laser engine scans at a rate of 36 scans per second and reads bar codes from 5 to 55 mils. The Falcons open architecture with PC card design and Integrated dipole, flexible antenna with 180 ° rotation supports multiple certified 2.4GHz spread spectrum radios for wireless LAN connectivity using either Symbol Technologies Spectrum 24 or Proxim RangeLan2. |

PT Dock from Percon |
Designed specifically for use with the PT2000 / Topgun, the PT Dock provides a connection between the PT2000 / Topgun and your computer without sacrificing the convenience of
portability. First, attach the provided adapter to the bottom of your PT2000 / Topgun. Then, rather than attaching a cable each time you want
to recharge your terminal's batteries or transmit data to or
from it, simply place the unit into the dock, and press the upload key. Data is
transmitted in seconds. When you want to use the terminalagain, just remove it from the dock. Your PT Dock offers the flexibility of serial and keyboard wedge configurations. Serial configurations accept a serial cable from the PT Dock to the host computer. IBM AT, PS/2, and terminal keyboard wedge configurations require an additional cable to connect the PT Dock between the keyboard and the host computer. When portable scanning needs arise, simply take the terminal out of the dock and begin scanning --- it's that easy! Depending upon the input device and batteries being used, terminal will scan up to 12 hours before recharging. At the end of a shift PT Dock can be used to recharge your terminal's NiCad battery pack and backup lithium battery. PT 2000 / Topgun terminal will be fully charged and ready to scan within eight hours of placing it in the dock. |
